Meditation March at Yoga Life Studio

"Meditation means dissolving the invisible walls that unawareness has built." - Sadhguru

All month long you can enjoy on-demand meditations + pranayama practices with Brooke available through our online schedule PLUS each Sunday from 1:15-1:45pm, a Group Silent Meditation. All meditation practices are free and everyone is welcome. No experience required.

Many of our weekly classes during March will also include 5 minutes of meditation after Savasana. This brings you the opportunity to sit in the silent transition between your practice and the rest of your day; you will find a literal “pause for presence”.

Through meditation students are steeped in the immediate benefit their Yama (ethics), Niyama (self-discipline), asana (posture), and pranayama (breath) practices bring while elevating them to the “inner” limbs of the Ashtanga practice. These more inwardly focused limbs include: Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (Meditation), and Samadhi (Bliss). The state of Meditation we enter bridges the gap between individual and universal consciousness which is an indispensable skill we can each build.

If you have been interested in meditation and don’t quite know where to begin we will explore various styles like Vippassana, Guided, Metta, Quiet and Visualizations or Imagery to name a few. We hope this month provides you more opportunity for self-exploration and understanding.

After clicking the button above, you'll be prompted to log into your Punchpass account, like you would to manage your reservations. Once logged in, visit our Content Library to access many types of meditations for the entire month of March!

April Kundalini Series with Ann Campbell

  • Google Calendar ICS

Thursday Mornings at 10am: April 17th & 24th

Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of awareness. It is an ancient healing practice to awaken and connect with the divine energy within, so you can achieve a life of lightness, joy and boundless love. It’s designed to bring your focus inward to align with the truest highest expression of yourself.  As you go on this journey within, you begin to see through emotional debris— to see what thought patterns need to be released— what’s holding you back from your full potential. Kundalini Yoga uses physical postures, breathing techniques (pranayama) meditation, and mantra/chanting to help rewire the brain and break through energetic blocks.

Kundalini is often represented by the snake. The snake represents healing and transformation, literally shedding its old skin in order to grow.

No prior yoga experience required. Class passes can be used or drop-in rates apply.

Confronting the Unexpected: A holistic approach to coping with change with Katie Durbin

$195

Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm May 6th, 13, 20th

Change and transitions are a part of life but most of us struggle with how to deal with it. Especially when we weren’t expecting it. We may deny what’s happening, retreat from dealing with it, or simply have no idea what to do. In these sessions, we will go through strategies and skills to assist in moving through these transitions in a steady, grounded and compassionate way.

If you are dealing with any of the following, this series is for you:

A health diagnosis, end of a relationship, physical injury, loss of a loved one, a child leaving for college, loss of a job, moving to a new state….or anything I have missed!

The first session will focus on the mind, the second on the body, and the third on the spirit. Each session will include exercises for reflection and time for connecting and support. Journal prompts will be given at the end for those who want to expand the work between sessions.

Katie Durbin is a licensed clinical social worker who has focused on helping people navigate serious illness and grief for 20 years. After 12 years in academic medical centers, she now sees people one on one in her private practice. She believes self-compassion can set us free and that life isn’t hard because we’re doing it wrong, it’s hard because we’re human.

The Enlightened Reset: Reclaiming Health and Balancing Hormones with Circadian Medicine with Jennifer Mayo

$195

Thursday evenings 6:45 - 8:00pm | February 27, March 6, March 13, and March 20th

We often focus on food as our primary source of nourishment, but food is merely a translator of the sun’s energy—the true source of all life on Earth. Light, however, is the most essential nutrient for unlocking the full potential of our bodies. We are, after all, beings of light and, just like plants, humans can directly harness light to optimize health and vitality.

In this 4-week series, holistic health coach Jen Mayo will guide you through the groundbreaking science of quantum biology, exploring how light shapes our health and hormonal balance. You’ll discover:
• Why modern “evidence-based” medicine often overlooks the critical role of light.
• How to create a light-friendly home environment to support health and happy hormones.
• Safe and effective ways to harness sunlight and boost vitamin D levels year-round.
• How light improves gut health and stimulates peptide and stem cell activity for healing and regeneration.
• The importance of syncing with nature’s rhythms and creating optimal conditions for sleep and hormone production.
• How to optimize mental health with light.
• Understand your body’s electrical nature and how to use light and water to amplify your body’s voltage.
• What are mitochondria and how to support them with circadian medicine.

The program includes an Enlightened Swag Bag, filled with tools and technologies to start healing your body and optimizing your hormones from day one.

Join us as we transition from winter to spring, culminating on the Spring Equinox—a perfect time to align your biology with nature and reclaim vibrant health.

Jen Mayo is a certified trauma-informed holistic health coach dedicated to empowering her clients to heal at the root-cause level, moving beyond diet and lifestyle changes to transcend the symptom-suppression model of conventional medicine. With a unique approach rooted in the philosophy of "rewilding," Jen guides her clients toward living in alignment with Nature's design, embracing the rhythms and resources our bodies were meant to thrive on, and utilizing technology where appropriate to compensate for the misalignments created by modern living.

Healthy Heart, Happy Heart: Yoga for Stress Management with Lisa Segar, Yoga Therapist

$360

Mondays at 5:30-6:45pm | January 6th - March 24th

The overall average reported level of stress among adults surveyed in 2024 was 5 out of 10. Managing stress can help control or reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, anxiety, and digestive disorders. Stress reduction can also improve mental health and reduce anxiety. Reducing stress can improve your quality of life and help you feel more resilient, improve your relationships, and improve your focus and self-control.

In this 12-week health and education program we will use the practices of Yoga to support your health and well-being. Each week you will be introduced to a new theme to support your health journey. Together we will explore health not just as a healthy physical state, but also as a healthy mental state and as social well-being. This view connects with the philosophy of Yoga where health is understood to be an integration of body, mind and spirit. Yoga is both a philosophy and methodology for cultivating this integrated health, or sense of wholeness.

Over the 12 weeks participants will have the opportunity to support their health in various ways. Past participants have noticed improvements such as: lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar levels, reduced muscle pain and tension, reduced joint pain and inflammation, reduced back pain and improved balance, improved digestion and elimination, more peace and positivity, reduced stress, relief from symptoms of anxiety and depression, improved sleep, and an overall improved quality of life.

Each session will build upon the previous week. Sessions will include: introduction of the week’s theme, body awareness, mudra, affirmation and breath work to support the theme, gentle chair Yoga (with the opportunity to progress to standing postures in later weeks), deep relaxation and meditation. There will also be time for partner and group sharing. Each week participants will receive a short video to support their home practice.

Participants will be asked to participate in a pre and post blood pressure reading. There will also be a pre and post general health assessment. This information will be kept confidential, but is essential to evaluate the on-going benefits of this program.

This is an all level offering and you do not need previous Yoga experience to participate.

  • Google Calendar ICS

Thursday Mornings at 10am: November 7th, 14th, 21st

Yoga for Reversing Rounded Shoulders and Upper Back with Brooke Margherone

$40

In our forward thinking society, it’s very common today to develop rounded shoulders, roundness through your middle back, collapsed chest, tightness between the ribs, and tension in the upper back, but it’s not normal, nor will it support the longevity of your body and overall health.

These issue could arise due to your profession, lifestyle, carrying your children around, or from stress over time. No matter the reason, if you’re experience any of the issues above, this workshop will teach you how to find relief and return to the natural neutral placement of the head, neck, shoulders, and spine.

A variety of postures will be explored to encourage full range of motion of the shoulder girdle and stabilize the shoulder blades. The benefits of these postures include increasing range of motion in the shoulder girdle allowing the body to remember the innate shoulder girdle placement, better posture and blood flow in the upper body, head and neck, improved breathing, decrease tension within the rib cage, stronger back muscles, opened chest, neck, and relaxed throat and face.

The breakdown of yoga postures with the specific movement principles for shoulder health will be practiced together in detail allowing for questions and modifications unique for the group. Each attendee will leave with the sequence and the modifications right for them so they can go on to practice on their own with confidence and continue to improve the health and alignment in the upper body.

All levels welcomed and encouraged to attend. No prior experience necessary.
