Humane Society Donation Drive

Yoga Life Studio is a drop off location for donations that you would like to make to the Humane Society of SWMI.

The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, receiving no local, state, or federal funds to pay for operating expenses. They are not affiliated with—nor do they receive funding from—national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States. Donations, grants, memorials, planned giving, service fees, and fund-raising efforts are our sole sources of income. They operate in a fiscally responsible manner to ensure that 100% of our donations benefit our animals.

As the only NO-KILL shelter in Berrien County, last year alone the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan saved the lives of more than 400 cats and dogs. They rescue and re-home dogs and cats, provide services that educate the public concerning responsible pet ownership, and promote the health and welfare of cats and dogs in our community.

You can feel good about donating because we are a NO-KILL shelter that provides compassionate medical treatment in a loving environment while we search for a forever home for every adoptable animal.

The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan would not exist without your generosity. Their animals do not choose to be abandoned. All they want is a home filled with love. The animals rely on them, but they must rely on us to help. They strive to find a home for each adoptable animal, but some dogs and cats wait a long time before they are adopted. Your funds improve the quality of life for each animal that comes through our doors by providing warm bedding, nutritious food, toys, and vaccinations for preventable diseases. We cannot thank you enough for your support.

If you are unable to donate items and would still like to help, you can donate your time!

They need wonderful volunteers who enable them to keep the shelter open and also provide valuable assistance for many events that are critical to our fundraising efforts. By volunteering, you not only lend priceless support to a worthy organization, but you also have the opportunity to meet new friends with shared interests in animal welfare.

So that you are comfortable in your role, they ask you to participate in an orientation, which is offered once a month. Their volunteer positions offer lots of variety that can make use of everyone’s talents. Call us at 269.927.3303 to discuss details and let us know you are coming.
